What Price Love?(Yardbird Suite)で詳しく書きましたが、チャーリー・パーカーは34年間の生涯の中で4回結婚していますが、その中でも16歳で結婚して21歳で離婚した最初の妻レベッカとは死ぬ前までずっと家族付き合いをしていたそうです。What Price Love?は、19歳の時に別れずにまた愛を取り戻そうという気持ちを込めて作った歌詞に思われ、21歳の時にその曲をレコーディングした時は、歌はいれずに演奏だけにして曲名もYardbird Suiteという曲名に変えています。
Ｂillie's Bounceも歌詞的にはWhat Price Love?に感じが似ていると私は思っています。それにしても、ルイ・アームストロングやチェット・ベーカーなど管楽器奏者は歌っても上手い方が沢山いらっしゃいますが、チャーリー・パーカーの歌も聴いてみたかったと思います。歌はなかったのはレベッカへの彼の愛情であったと私には思えてなりません。この二人の関係性だけで凄い傑作映画が出来るとも思っているのは私だけでしょうか？

"What Price Love?" seems to be a lyric that I wrote when I was 19 years old with the desire to regain my love without breaking up, and when I recorded the song at the age of 21, I didn't sing it, just played it, and changed the song name to Yardbird Suite.
I think Billie's Bounce is lyrically similar to What Price Love?. Anyway, there are many wind instrument players such as Louis Armstrong and Chet Baker who are good at singing, but I would have liked to have heard Charlie Parker sing. I can't help but think that it was his love for Rebecca that there was no singing. Am I the only one who thinks that the relationship between these two people alone can make a great masterpiece movie?
